Is there an easy way to dissolve the “Scratch this off with a coin”?

I just got Guild Wars and it’s really making me mad, cuz I have to scratch off the grey stuff to see the access key. I can’t fully make out the access code and it won’t let me thru, is there a way to dissolve the grey stuff?

    nail polish remover might do it, but it might take off the key as well.

    lol , just use soemthing without a sharp edge , like a coin , geez . . . do you dissolve lottery tickets ? it’s the same stuff
